New Shoes!

Well, I finally did it! After 16 years, I broke down and got new cycling shoes. I had every intention of doing it six years ago before our first trip, but couldn't find what I needed at what I could afford.

So, last month I set out to see what I could find in town. I knew it was too early for new shoe shipments, but that was okay because that's not what I was interested in. I was perfectly content with something from last year. Praying before I left, I went in full confidence that God would provide what I needed.

You can see that He did! One store had just put out what was left of last year's shoes - and there weren't very many of them. The "chances" that there would be a pair in my size were pretty slim. But our God doesn't work with "chances"! Looking through the boxes, lo and behold..... a pair in my size....and they fit great!

If you know Gerry and me at all, you know that neither of us is all that concerned about having the newest and best of whatever. We try to buy decent quality to meet our needs. Evidently, we bought good quality in our first pairs of shoes for them to last 15 and 16 years.(Gerry replaced his last year.)

You can see how worn mine had gotten: holes in the toes, heel tops torn
and heel bottoms worn almost off.
Cleats were pretty beat up. (I manage to go through a pair of these a year.)

I am very thankful that the Lord gave abundantly in this very tangible way.
