The aircast is off. The doctor gave his okay yesterday to remove the cast and to ride...with care, and not too strenuously for a while. That may be hard to do; I feel like we're running short on training time. But I will try very hard to be good and obey. The sun is shining and the snow is all gone, so tonight will be our initial ride. (I have a feeling I'm going to hurt tomorrow after using some soft muscles.)

We've received the maps and info for most of the eastern states now. I feel like I'm entering foreign territory. I've been in all the states from Washington to Wisconsin so am familiar with terrain, climate, etc. But east of Lake Michigan is a different story, especially the mountains of New York, New Hampshire and Vermont. One encouraging aspect is that by the time we get there, we'll be pretty strong physically so that shouldn't be too much of an issue. I am excited to be able to see all that country up close and personal (That's what I love about biking.) and to meet the people along the way. So now it's time to sit down and try to plan a general route.

Loving the sun and freedom,
Pat
