Day 25 - Jamestown to Valley City, ND

If you want to read chronologically, scroll down to where you last read and move up. Also, I made an addition to Day 20 at the bottom in red.

DAY 25 - JAMESTOWN TO VALLEY CITY, ND
37 miles
st- 2.31
14.7 avg

The night was interesting; we didn't look around enough when we set up our tent last night, so we didn't see the big light pole just a few feet away. When I woke up in theh night I thought it was almost time to get up because it was so light. But when I looked outside, the sky was black.
Knowing we only had a few miles to ride today, we dawdled this morning, enjoying the morning sun. And we visited the little frontier village just up the street from us. Gerry got to see Louis L'Amour's writing shack (I'm sure it's authentic. Uh huh.) Oh, and how could I forget the "World's Largest Buffalo"?
We finally got on the road at 9:45 and had some easy miles to Valley City to Matt and Celena's. Just before Valley City, it occurred to both of us that we'd most likely drop down into....a valley...yeah..."Valley" City. We did.
Celena is a friend who was in our Mars Hill college group in Bozeman before she and Matt were married. We are so enjoying our time with them this evening. They have been so gracious to share their home, washer and dryer and computer. And they gave us PIZZA!
Hmmm, there seems to be a common theme among the younger people we're visiting on this ride.... The question is - which will it be, boy or girl? Congratulations!

Today we discovered that Paddles loves flying down hills!

Tomorrow (Thursday) we're taking off for Fargo/Moorhead.

Again, thanks for all your prayer for us. Our current requests are 1)continued safety, 2) physical strength for the random muscles that rebel, 3) opportunities to touch people's lives.

In His hand,

Gerry and Pat

P&G...love your posts and how God's hand is in this adventure. If you don't have any, get some Benadryl. That sting in the throat is very scary! Benadryl has a dissovable strip that works super fast. (light weight too, but you need a knife or scissors to open)
praying, praying and still praying.
