We left the motel at 8:50 and headed down hwy 13 to Wisconsin Dells. There wasn’t anything too remarkable about the ride except that I was feeling it more than Gerry today. That happens frequently when one of us will be having a stronger day than the other. When we reached Wisconsin Dells, we found Sherwood Forest campground and checked in.
Today we did some cross-training:
We power-walked (to lunch)
We power-walked (to lunch)
We ran (across hot pavement)
We did steps (up to the waterslides)
We weight-lifted (inner tubes)
We played 18 holes (miniature golf)
The lady at the campground gave us some discount cards that allowed us to do all of these things for free! (We love seeing how God provides even the smallest things for us.)
After we set up the tent and got the bike and BOB locked up, we showered then took off with a plastic bag (Is that high-class or what?!) with our swimsuits, towels, and sunscreen. We walked for about two and a half miles - HOT miles - to Pizza Pub for their all-you-can-eat salad and pizza lunch. It was good to eat salad again!
We walked back to the water park, changed into our suits and went for it! We tried one of the regular slides first, then went to the straight slide. Then, of course, I had to do the black tube slide. I love whooshing down through the complete darkness, not knowing which way it it’s going to turn or drop.
We did the river raft ride then went back to the straight slide and the dark slide again. While we were waiting in line at the dark slide, one of the attendants left. That left only one up on top for both slides, so she had to go back and forth between them. The elderly lady ahead of me took off in her raft and we could hear her hooting and hollering, a little longer than I thought normal. Then it was my turn. Off I went into the dark. Whoo hoo! Then, KAPOW, I smacked right into something! It was the elderly lady who had gone ahead of me, and the impact sent her shooting on down the slide. Boy, that was weird! When I got to the bottom, I talked with her and she said as she was sitting there in the slide, she thought she was still going because she could hear the water running around her. But she thought the ride was lasting a longer time than usual. Then, WHAM, I smacked into her and sent her on down. This happened because of the shortage of attendants up on top. The gal that was doing both slides had no idea that the elderly lady hadn’t reached the bottom before she let me go. I'm thankful that neither of us was injured.
Then we walked back to the campground and went to bed, very ready for it after about seven miles of walking.

Wisconsin Dells... we were just there last Monday! lol. We looked for you while we were driving, but figured you probably weren't riding along the interstate. We still looked though anyway.
There was a great diner in WD too... when we stopped they were only serving breakfast, but they waiter got the cook to make me a grilled cheese sandwich. I was horribly nauseous and that was all that sounded even close to edible. lol. Guess being sick and pregnant has a few perks! :)
Oh... those waterslides look like so much fun!
