Waking up later, we saw the sun was out. Good, we could go for a walk. We walked into town and down the main street.
You can see that it didn't take long. But we can now say that we walked on
There was a little store that had this tricycle in the window...
Is that way cool or what?
Lunch at a little local diner, talking, then back to our room for a nap. That's what a day off is about - resting and rejuvenating. Afterwards, I started packing up everything that had been drying out and Gerry made dinner.
We contacted a Warmshowers host in Stillwater for tomorrow but she's out of town and not sure when she'll be home.
We took the bike around the parking lot to test the shifting and it seems to be fine.
After a time of prayer together, we watched a movie then went to bed. On the road again tomorrow!
Some observations about Oklahoma:
-Until this motel, we've not had cold tap water or real hot tap water. It's all been tepid.
-The toilet paper is always hung to roll out the bottom. Wrong.
-Texans seemed more ready to receive us and our purpose for the ride. We heard a lot of "God bless you!" In Texas. Not so much in Oklahoma. People are friendly enough but that's about it.
-We've ridden through four nations so far in Oklahoma: Choctaw Nation, Chickasaw Nation, Seminole Nation and Sac and Fox Nation.
Prayer needs:
- My ears are still not good. Should I see a doctor? Should I just wait it out?
- Knees seem to be stable with ibuprofen and acetaminophen.
- Wisdom as we choose our routes. It always looks easy on the map, but it's a different story when it comes right down to it.
Your comments are always encouraging to us.

A day of rest is refreshing. When you crossed the Red River leaving Texas behind you entered foreign territory 8-).
We Texans try to be friendly. Nice to read about your prayer time. I wouldn't wait too long to go to the doctor. Waiting doesn't solve every illness.
God Bless!
Been trying to leave a comment, but it's not working, did you get this one????
Okay, it looks like you got this one, so.....I had to open a gmail account to respond to your blogs. I will go back to the turtle...it would NOT have bit, nor scratched you....you should have killed that tarantula....sorry you have had to ride in so much rain, but guess that proves you aren't made of sugar like I thought you were! Love you, and NOW I can respond to your blogs...I HAVE been reading them! Love you!
Howdy!!!
I love reading your posts! The guy that almost hit you was probably wondering what you were riding on. Then Bob is attached, too.
One time when we were driving in OK, we accidentally hit a small turtle. He gave us a flat tire. For you, he would have been a speed bump.
You guys are doing great! Keep up the good work!
Blessing to you! Love, Nancy
